I’m not super good at this so I’m just gonna spew information. Ready, go: I’m a 21 year old college student with a strong emotional attachment to food and a longing for a creative outlet. I love to eat/make/share food so much that I study it in school (I’m a dietetics major). My family & the internet are responsible for my cooking skills. I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Italy, so my standards for olive oil are annoyingly steep. In conclusion, I am of the opinion that animals and chocolate are precious gifts to this world.
Many of my strongest and most treasured memories revolve around food. One bite can take me back in time, and the best part is that we all experience this magic regardless of language, background, age, gender, taste buds, etc. We all relate through food.
I wanted to start a blog that could be meaningful to anyone, so the connection became obvious. The recipes on memo2munch begin with food memories–your food memories as well as mine. You can tell me about your food-related memories by filling out the form below or by sending me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Each week I use the memories I am sent to create a recipe, which I share on the blog along with the food memory that inspired it (and my own additional fluff.) And that’s how we get from memo —-> munch. Or I guess you could think of it as a memory you can eat… Your call.
Food memories come in all shapes and sizes, and they are all important. So even if you think your memory might be very simple, I still want to hear about it! Stories like these can be the most entertaining. 🙂
